Footballers wiirh special educational needs
With Raheem Stirling being the first footballer to play for England having been educated at a Special School. and with Harry Kane's speech impediment suggesting he's had a lot of speech therapy input, I wonder what other players have overcome learning and communication difficulties at school to make it in the top flight.?

No mention of a well known manager with undoubtably a sub 90 IQ?? Step forward Sam Allardyce.

Pardew on the other hand sounds quite intelligent.

Apart from his attitude towards his son, bfs does not seem like the arm round your shoulder type. Mind you even Harry could not sort him out.

Must be a complete prick to throw his career away in one of the best leagues in the world. Maybe being away from his scummy mates may be his best ever move.

Ravel is thicker than the lot of them. Too thick to realise that he's funking up his career.

Garth crooks has done really well for himself considering he cannot string a sentence together.

Ravel is definitely on the autism spectrum.

I guess the most obvious example of someone overcoming their special needs is Tim Howard who struggles with OCD and Tourette syndrome.

The odd thing is that foreign youngsters come here, learn the language and appear to have more than two brain cells.

Re: Footballers wiirh special educational needs
To be fair to footballers they probably have spent so much time playing football as kids and whilst at school they more than likely didn't concentrate on their education so a lot of them aren't the sharpest. Most scientists or engineers might not be particularly hot when it comes to sport!!

Then you probably have the 1000's of kids that put their all into football and didn't make it in the game and thus were left without either football or an education.

I think our own Sir Trevor was one of the more educated with gawd knows how many O and A Levels. Even Sir Alf Ramsey had elocution lessons!!
